Random Thoughts for April 10, 2025
Oh, how the battle rages in the spiritual realm, all while the overwhelming majority of us here on earth remain oblivious to it. And yet much pain and emotional agony are being inflicted upon us without us even knowing who’s causing it. If only more people knew and practices the power of prayer – which includes the power of BELIEVING and TRUSTING COMPLETELY in the Blood and Authority of Jesus.
In the past week I’ve been “over the target” several times, but because I walked into some of those areas without checking with God first, I felt the repercussions! Don’t make my mistake. The spiritual battle is not something one should enter without prayer cover, and DEFINITELY not something we should do unless we know God is giving us the go-ahead.
I admit I was getting bold in battle, and regarding one event in particular, I did not check with the Lord to see if He wanted me to take the action I was taking. I’ve since repented of that!
To that end, to help you get informed about the powers at work in the spiritual realm, allow me to recommend you read “The Screwtape Letters” and/or “This Present Darkness” (if you haven’t already read them). And, if you have already read them, may I recommend reading them again?
A friend once served as a long-term missionary in Papua New Guinea (30 years), where spiritism, sorcery, and witchcraft are widespread. He told me that “This Present Darkness” (by Frank Peretti) was so spot on, it read more like a documentary than a novel.
Both books will equip you with insights into how the enemies of God think, which will, in turn, let you know how to pray EFFECTIVELY.

Politics continues to find a comfortable place in the back seat of my life, but I still find myself wanting to comment on a few things—such as, “Be thankful the current administration in place, but do NOT rely on them to guide your path.” In other words, I don’t think we should be worshipping at the altar of MAGA. Be thankful for it? Absolutely. Vote for it? Yes. Pray for it? Definitely. But worship at the MAGA altar? No.
The people running the current administration are HUMAN, and as such, they have flaws just like you and me and your boss and your neighbors and your spouse. Do you agree with everything your spouse says or does? Neither should you agree with everything coming out of the White House or the Congress.
In all things give thanks, but in all things be rational, too.
I’ve personally caught flak from several friends because I’ve been OBJECTIVE about what I see coming out of the White House. As a certified behavioral analyst, I’ve been observing Donald Trump for decades—long before he was even on The Apprentice—and his style is actually easy to ascertain. I know the strengths of his character style and also his blind spots (weaknesses). I, myself, should be considered BLIND if I ignored the not-so-healthy aspects of Trump’s style. Those who criticize me for not bowing down and praising everything coming out of the White House are blind themselves.
In other words, we live in a representative constitutional republic, and your voice matters just as much as anyone’s. Do not ever abdicate that. If more people had stepped up and done what they knew was right from 2016 – 2020 instead of bowing down to those uttering the words “Trust the Plan,” things might have been even better! Listen to what God is telling you to do and DO THAT … always.

Finally, let me give you advanced word that I’m currently working on a new series of books for managers, and will be starting a series of online LIVE training classes in the next few months. For more than 35 years I’ve been working with managers and leaders in many industries and in companies of ALL sizes. Additionally, I’ve been writing on management issues for multiple business newspapers, magazines, and websites for well over two decades. My international best-seller, Creating Passion-Driven Teams, came out in 2009, but it’s time for some new books – and some practical, relevant, short weekly online training sessions.
I can say with confidence these books and trainings will equip people with PRACTICAL, USEFUL, and EASY-TO-APPLY knowledge. We’re talking about knowledge that will make a HUGE difference for making someone more effective in their role, and it’s knowledge that’s NOT taught at Harvard Business School.
Stay tuned.
By the way, this doesn’t mean Creating Passion-Driven Teams is out of vogue. Quite the contrary. Just the other day a seasoned manager told me he believes that book should be mandatory reading for anyone in a management or supervisory position – and that leaders should read it, too. So, while I’m putting the finishing touches on the Transformational Managers series, get yourself a copy of Creating Passion-Driven Teams and get a head start on strengthening your management skills.
Until next time –
