The term “Christian Nationalism” is increasingly being weaponized in an attempt to put Christians in a corner. Although the Constitution doesn't explicitly declare America a 'Christian nation,' the historical context and founding documents of the individual states reveal the framers' clear intent: Christians should hold public office.
The speaker in the video is not very educated about God. The FIRST commandment is to love GOD. Loving your neighbor as God loves, cannot be, unless you first love God and get that love from him, to share with your neighbor. I understand that he was eliminating God to make what he said palatable to his audience.
In addition, he declares his leftist philosophy by equating disagreement with hatred. God commands us to hate SIN but not the sinner, as does He. This speaker is so obviously ignorant of the worldview that he condems, which by his own standard is hatred.
What is always at the basis of the idea of christian nationalism is the assumption that Christians have a right to control other people's lives through violent force. This is explicity unscriptural.
All good points but we need a reality check. Whether America was founded as a Christian or Judeo Christian Nation is moot now. We are no longer Christian from either growing Atheism or the "New Church" which is more pagan than Christian. We should be asking ourselves why instead of are we this or that. I go to a small Baptist church that still has hymnbooks (!) and there are typically 30 people inside on any given Sunday. Across the street there is a First Congregation "Church" that celebrated Pride Day for unrepentant sinners on Pentatauch (maybe they just got the Ps mixed up) because they are "affirmimg" of their lifestyles. The parking lot had almost 300 cars.
